Music Reach offers our registered students a host of creative activities
to complement their formal, structured music lessons. Many of these
activities - created for all ages, skill levels and musical interests
- are free of charge. And best of all, they require little to no participation
from busy parents since most activities are performed during lessons
by the student and teacher. Music Reach teachers will suggest the most
appropriate activities in which to take part, as well as customize each
activity to meet the needs of the student.
Though
all activities are optional, we encourage participation to:
- inspire the students' own creativity
- motivate them to practice
- introduce students to new aspects of music
- help musicians discover all the qualities of their chosen instruments
- inspire original ideas
- help young musicians develop their own style
- introduce students to different styles of music
- keep the lessons fresh and exciting by exploring the concepts taught
Music Reach Practice and Performance CDs
Music Reach uses its staff's comprehensive experience and its state-of-the-art
private studio facility to offer registered students exciting opportunities
most music students don't have: the ability to record their performances
on professional quality digital media!
Beginners
Beginning students have the option of creating CD recordings of their
musical performances, for the purpose of reviewing and analyzing technique,
phrasing, interpretation and performing presence. The teacher records
students performing on their own instruments during scheduled lessons,
then burns those sessions to CD. The following week, student and teacher
review the performance together to identify ways to improve it.
Intermediate Students
Intermediate students who've begun to reach a level of satisfaction
with their musical performances have the option of gathering their most
successful lesson recordings on a "Best Of" Performance CD. These compilation
CDs are finished with a professionally printed label customized with
a photo of the student. It's a great way to document a student's progress
over the span of their music education. We've also found that anticipation
of reaching the proficiency level required to make a "Best Of" CD is
a strong motivator to practice.
Recording performances provides students of all ages and skill levels
the opportunity to:
- Track musical skill progress over the years
- Create a repertoire of individual student "songbooks," audio catalogs
of all the songs they've learned over the years
- Create unique and personal gifts for family and friends
- Share performance CDs with other Music Reach students
- Post performances inside the Music Reach Treasure Chest
Music Reach activities stimulate creative growth in students of all
ages and skill levels. You don't need to be a professional musician
to enjoy the many benefits these activities offer. Our goal is to
inspire creativity throughout the learning process and to make the
journey through music education an exciting and memorable experience
for all our students.
